Visitare Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto

Cittadellarte wants to inspire and produce responsible change in society through creative ideas and projects.

Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto is a physical place, an idea, a vision, a project, a community. It is a great challenge to describe such an articulated and complex reality in just a few words.

Already from its name the objective that its founders set themselves is evident: to create a place where artists, scientists, activists, entrepreneurs and representatives of the institutional world could meet, a real house of art, an art seen as a tool for responsible social transformation.

Not only. The name Cittadellarte incorporates two meanings: that of citadel, or an area in which art is protected and well defended, and that of city, which corresponds to the idea of openness and complex interrelationship with the world.

Furthermore, Cittadellarte is a laboratory-school dedicated to the study, experimentation and development of practices that translate the symbol of the Third Paradise into reality, implicating it in every social sphere and in every type of organization, starting from the single individual up to the highest bodies such as the United Nations.

The myth of the Third Paradise itself has its origins right here and in its thinking, planning and manifestation it incites and proposes constant research aimed at creating a trinamic balance between opposites.

Cittadellarte, therefore, is a new model of artistic and cultural institution that places art in direct interaction with the different sectors of society. A place where ideas and projects converge that combine creativity and entrepreneurship, training and production, ecology and architecture, politics and spirituality. A multifaceted and multifaceted organism intended to produce civilization, activating necessary and urgent responsible social change at a local and global level.
