PROGRAMME
6 days/5 nights


1ST DAY

Arrival at the Sanctuary of Oropa and accommodation in a double room at the Reception Office of the Sanctuary. The sanctuary of Oropa, the largest Marian sanctuary in the Alps and among the first in Europe in importance, will welcome you in all its majesty and beauty. Its silences will remain in your memory, its clear sky, the crackling of the water that flows from the central "Burnell" fountain, its green meadows, and its mountains that envelop it as if in a warm embrace. Dinner and overnight stay.


2ND DAY

After breakfast, meeting with the guide who will accompany you throughout the day. Guided tour of the Sanctuary, the Sacro Monte, the Chapels and the Via Crucis. Descent to Biella and lunch at a restaurant in the city. Biella and the Biella area are at its feet and will give you the opportunity to discover other places and glimpses of a lesser-known corner of Piedmont, but full of treasures. You will walk through the medieval village of Biella Piazzo, reachable by a funicular, with the palaces of the families who made the history of Italy, the Ferrero, the La Marmora. From there you can admire and visit Biella, the world capital of wool and cashmere fabrics and home to prestigious brands such as Ermenegildo Zegna, Loro Piana, Cerruti, Piacenza... And to end the day, the feeling of returning to the past by visiting the Ricetto di Candelo, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy, walking in the evening through its narrow streets after a dinner in a local trattoria. Overnight stay.


3RD DAY

Breakfast and transfer to the Sacro Monte di Varallo, lunch at the Sacro Monte restaurant and descent to Varallo by cable car and guided tour of the town. Varallo Sesia, the true historical and cultural capital of Valsesia, in addition to its jewel, the Sacro Monte, recognized since 2003 as a UNESCO heritage site, also fascinates with its splendid nineteenth-century villas and invites you to walk in its center where there is no lack of opportunity to find some historic cafes. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Art Gallery, located in the Palazzo dei Musei, where the masterpieces created by Piedmontese and Valsesian artists between 1400 and 1900 are exhibited. Return to Sacro Monte by cable car. Accommodation in a double room at one of the two Sacro Monte hotels. Dinner and overnight stay.


4TH DAY

After breakfast, meeting with the guide who will accompany you all day. Guided tour of the Sacro Monte, the Chapels and the Via Crucis. Descent to Varallo with the panoramic cable car, lunch and transfer, crossing the entire Val Sesia, up to Alagna. Guided tour of the Walser Museum, people of German origin, who arrived in Valsesia around the 13th century, in the Pedemonte hamlet, and walk through the streets of Alagna. Dinner at a characteristic "Stube" (stove in German), tasting the specialties of regional, local and typical Walser cuisine such as Wallischuppe (soup with onions, bacon, toma and black bread) or fondue polenta rafioline. Return to hotel and overnight stay.


5TH DAY

After breakfast, transfer to Stresa. You will stay in one of the hotels located on the Borromean Gulf, a few steps from the lake, from where you will comfortably depart to reach the renowned Borromean Islands by private motorboat. Guided tourist tour of the Borromean Islands. Visit to Isola Bella with the Borromeo Palace and its Gardens. Lunch at a restaurant on Isola dei Pescatori. After lunch, we continue the guided tour of Isola Madre and return by boat to Stresa. Accommodation in a double room at a hotel in Stresa. Relaxing moments walking along the lake before dinner enjoying an aperitif (not included). Dinner and overnight stay.


6TH DAY

After breakfast you will discover the nature around the Sacro Monte on foot, with a very short and easy walk in the company of an environmental guide. Lunch at a restaurant on the slopes of Sacro Monte, with a magnificent view of the lake.
