Biella: tasting Piedmont among wines, beers and DOP cheeses!

Explore Biella, a Piedmontese food and wine jewel less explored but extraordinary in its richness of flavours. Nebbiolo wines challenge the best-known in Piedmont, while microbreweries transform Biella water into globally award-winning craft beers. The cheeses, derived from the milk of the Pezzate of Oropa, graze in the mountain pastures of Biella. A unique sensorial experience, where the palate and the eyes are lost in the magic of authentic tastes and enchanting landscapes. Welcome to a world of food and wine discoveries in Biella!

PROGRAMME

4 days / 3 nights

1ST DAY

Welcome to your bed & breakfast. Located on a hill, a short distance from the heart of Biella, the Montecavallo Castle has enchanted with its centuries-old vineyards since the 13th century. Built in 1830, the castle is a gem of wine production. The atmosphere is enveloping, with vineyards that embrace the property, surrounded by a vast forest and an Italian garden. Delight yourself with one of their wines during a relaxing aperitif and let yourself be pampered by a gourmet dinner and a night wrapped in an aura of magic.

2ND DAY

Immerse yourself in craft beer, another local gem. Used in the production of Europe's lightest mineral water and essential in the textile industry for over two hundred years, beer is transformed into surprising elixirs. The journey takes you to Graglia, in the green heart, to visit a local brewery. Discover the secrets of production directly from the owners and delight your palate with a variety of beers and a succulent lunch in their beer garden. Return to Biella to explore further excellence: Menabrea beer and Botalla cheeses. Museum and tasting at the MeBo Experience Hub close the day. Free evening to discover Biella and have dinner (not included) before retiring to the Castle for a well-deserved rest.

3RD DAY

Explore the western part of Biella to discover the white wines of the region. The day begins in Viverone, a fascinating morainic lake. Accompanied by a hiking guide, you will walk among the Erbaluce vineyards, discovering the formation of the longest moraine hill in Europe. Admire the lake with a unique panorama among the vineyards. The walk culminates in a delicious lunch break on the shores of the lake with local fish. Savoring Erbaluce in a refined cellar and relaxing in their SPA inside a barrel overlooking the moraine ends the day. Continuing to Biella, a unique culinary experience awaits you at the Marta farmhouse, where the chef will amaze you with natural and organic cuisine. Return for overnight stay.

4TH DAY

Before departure, on the road to your destination, one of the producers of excellence in the Biella wine scene will let you taste their wines: Cento Vigne at the Castello di Castellengo (lunch not included). Departure.
